Job summary

Gryphon Place is seeking Crisis Specialists to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support via MiCAL. The role involves risk assessment, de-escalation, and connecting individuals to local resources in a 24/7 contact center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Crisis intervention training (provided) must be completed.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, overnights in a 24/7 environment.
• Certified Crisis Specialist or ability to certify within 1 year of hire.
• Michigan residency required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis contacts via phone, chat, text, or others.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and safety planning.
• Provide emotional support and de-escalation using trauma-informed approaches.
• Refer to community resources and coordinate care.
• Document interactions in designated crisis systems.
