Family Service Association of Greater Elgin in Aurora, IL, seeks a licensed social worker to join the Aurora Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU). This role provides on-site co-response to mental health crises and collaborates with law enforcement to stabilize individuals and families in the community.

The position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, strong crisis intervention skills, and the ability to multitask. Spanish language skills are preferred.

Formación

• Must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
• Flexible, independent and able to multi-task effectively.
• Preferred experience with mental health issues and criminal justice involvement.
• Preferred bilingual Spanish-speaking.

Responsabilidades

• Provide in-person and phone follow-ups to link individuals and families to services.
• Co-response with Aurora Police Department officers on mental health calls.
• Coordinate with hospitals and local providers for ongoing care.
• Complete required clinical paperwork and APD documentation.
• Discuss cases with supervisor and ensure safety planning as needed.
• Educate the community about the CIU program and services.
