Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Intake Specialist to support our mission by responding to requests for assistance, screening urgency, and mediating crises. You will greet guests in person or by phone, assess primary needs, and provide information and referrals with appropriate follow-up.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Call center/front desk experience preferred.
• Experience with low-income populations preferred.
• 1 year in social work or social service field desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet and respond to guests in-person or by phone.
• Screen for in-kind and financial needs; determine urgency.
• Provide program information and referrals and schedule appointments.
• Identify resources and next steps to address needs.
• Stay up-to-date with program requirements and trends.
• Maintain records and data for reports.
