Job summary

Community Crisis Services, Inc. seeks Information & Referral Specialists to staff our hotline serving callers in need from Prince George’s County, the state of Maryland, and across the nation.

Specialists assess client needs, screen for program eligibility, provide crisis support, and track outcomes to ensure access to needed resources in a non-judgmental manner. The position includes 40 hours of training on active listening, suicide prevention, and agency resources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Initial Crisis Intervention Training or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to listen actively, be non-judgmental and work in a team.
• Experience with Language Line and TTD services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete statistics sheets for each call and complete required forms.
• Keep updated by reading the communication log and data available.
• Performs clerical tasks as needed and coordinates with supervisors.
• Maintain confidentiality of callers and provide information and referrals.
• Attend in-services and meetings as scheduled and support 24/7 shift coverage.
