Job summary

The Family Place is seeking a part-time Hotline Counselor to serve as the first contact for survivors seeking shelter, safety, or resources related to domestic violence. You will conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and provide crisis support with empathy and trauma-informed communication.

Responsibilities include intake for new residents, emergency placement services, and aiding training for staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related human services field preferred.
• Minimum one year of crisis intervention and/or domestic violence hotline experience required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish may be required for some roles.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and clear driving record.

Responsibilities

• Answer hotline calls for shelter, safety, or resources related to domestic violence.
• Establish rapport, assess immediate risk, and develop safety plans.
• Provide crisis support with empathy and trauma-informed communication.
• Conduct intake assessments for new residents and provide emergency placement services.
