Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in North Carolina seeks a full-time Facility Based Crisis Center Nurse to provide direct nursing care, medication administration, and health monitoring for adults in crisis. The role includes training staff, de-escalation leadership, and ensuring safe clinical care in a 24/7 setting.

Requirements include an active NC RN or LPN license, 1 year in behavioral health or substance use, and proficiency with EHRs.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered NC RN or LPN license.
• One year of behavioral health or substance use experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced crisis environment.
• Valid NC driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
• Proficiency with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, monitor vital signs, and document findings.
• Administer medications, monitor effectiveness, and document administration.
• Lead de-escalation, provide crisis response guidance, and support staff.
• Train non-licensed personnel on medication-related tasks and safety.
• Ensure compliance, quality audits, and infection control standards.
