Summary
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Investigative Operations Directorate, in various locations across the U.S.
Duties
This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 300 applications have been received. The Criminal Investigator is responsible for coordinating and completing complex investigations involving misconduct, criminal activity, and corruption by CBP employees and related entities. Responsibilities include: employing agency authorities, gathering and analyzing evidence, serving as case agent, leading or supporting investigations, providing briefings, conducting investigations involving use of force, and preparing investigative reports.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen, register with Selective Service if applicable, meet residency requirements, pass background checks and polygraph, and meet medical and firearms qualifications. Additional requirements include a valid driver’s license, willingness to relocate, and compliance with drug testing and security clearance standards.
Qualifications
GS-12: 1 year of specialized experience in criminal investigations, including conducting investigations, drafting warrants, and analyzing evidence.
GS-13: 1 year of specialized experience in advanced investigations, undercover operations, and preparing detailed reports.
