Job Overview:
A well-regarded South Carolina-based criminal defense law firm is seeking a motivated and skilled Criminal Defense Attorney to join its expanding team. This role is ideal for a licensed attorney with courtroom experience and a strong commitment to client advocacy and justice. Location:

Rock Hill, South Carolina

Duties:

1. Represent clients facing criminal charges, including DUIs, drug offenses, violent crimes, and white-collar crimes
2. Conduct legal research, gather evidence, and develop strategic defense plans
3. Appear in court for arraignments, bail hearings, pre-trial motions, trials, and sentencing
4. Negotiate plea deals, case dismissals, and alternative sentencing arrangements with prosecutors
5. Communicate regularly with clients to provide legal advice and case updates
6. Work collaboratively with legal staff, including paralegals, investigators, and expert witnesses

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing criminal defense law
• Strong courtroom presence and experience with motion practice and trial advocacy
• Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and meet court deadlines
• Excellent client service orientation and interpersonal skills

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in the State of South Carolina

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research tools and case management software
• Strong negotiation, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of organization and time management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
• Adaptable to a remote or hybrid working environment
