Job Description

Join the legal frontline and champion the defense for both the insured and the Company! As an early career Trial Attorney, you'll handle cases such as no-fault, bodily injury, and property damage lawsuits, with opportunities for trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Beyond the courtroom, you'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams. Stay ahead of new laws and regulations to ensure our strategies remain sharp. Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
  2. Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
  3. Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
  4. Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  5. Interview clients and witnesses, draft summaries of their statements, and maintain communication records.
  6. Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
  7. Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and update the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.
  8. Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to complex legal work.
Education
  • Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Arizona State Bar.
Minimum Requirements
  • Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.
  • Strong time management skills to effectively balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions, preparing summaries, and maintaining records.
  • Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
  • Basic negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
  • Must be within commuting distance to courthouses throughout Arizona.

Compensation

Salary ranges from $66,800 to $120,650 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
