Responsibilities

• Prepare cases for defense of indigent persons in district courts; in juvenile matters as applicable.
• Interview clients and witnesses; draft briefs, memos, pleadings and other legal papers.
• Conduct legal research and represent clients in arraignments, hearings and trials.
• Consult with prosecutors, social workers, judges and referees to determine appropriate dispositions.
• Advise and direct work of law clerks; perform related duties as required.
