Job summary

The Crime Intelligence Analyst I role at the Florida Department of Corrections Office of the Inspector General compiles, analyzes, and disseminates criminal intelligence information from multiple agencies. You will work in the Analysis Unit to coordinate interstate and intrastate information related to criminal activity, gang activity, and inmate matters, and prepare comprehensive reports.

A background in criminal intelligence and a valid driver's license are required; preferred qualifications

Qualifications

• Requires two years of intelligence, investigations, or analysis experience with a high school diploma, or one year with an associate's degree.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Experience or education in criminal science discipline is preferred.
• Certified Law Enforcement Analyst certification is preferred.
• Pass Level 2 background check per Florida Statutes Chapter 435.
• U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

The position works in the Analysis Unit to coordinate interstate and intrastate information pertaining to criminal activity, gang activities, and inmate-related matters, while preparing comprehensive written reports and ensuring accurate information is shared with proper authorities.

Key qualifications:

• At least two years of experience in intelligence, investigations, or analysis with a high school diploma; OR one year of such experience with an associate's degree in criminal justice or related disci
• Valid driver's license required
• Experience and/or postsecondary education in criminal science discipline (preferred)
• Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (preferred)
