Job summary

Nueces County is seeking a detail‑oriented clerk to manage criminal information systems. You will operate three teletype terminals and enter data into TCIC/NCIC, RMS, and the county database, ensuring accuracy and timeliness under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to type 25 wpm, and willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends. You will perform criminal history checks, update warrants, and handle teletype communications with law enforcement agencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of clerical experience preferred.
• Must type at least 25 wpm and demonstrate accurate data entry.
• Experience with law-enforcement databases is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enter and retrieve data from TCIC/NCIC, RMS, and county databases.
• Perform criminal history checks on individuals for background investigations.
• Enter warrants into TCIC/NCIC and update RMS entries as needed.
• Provide 24-hour confirmations on warrant inquiries and respond quickly to agencies.
• Answer public calls after 5 PM when assigned to specific shifts.
