Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's in criminal justice/public admin or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in statistical and management analysis or any equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Conducts crime pattern, series and trend analysis using qualitative, temporal and geographic methods.
• Prepares crime analysis bulletins and reports.
• Inputs reports and statements from officers into a database; codes and files records.
• Enters, amends, retrieves, loads, downloads and updates information.
• Retrieves information on various computer systems and queries systems for crime data.
• Presents crime patterns to internal and external entities both verbally and visually.
• Acts as liaison between the Wheeling Police Department and the West Virginia Intelligence Fusion Center.
• Monitors, catalogs, and disseminates data from the anonymous tip line.
• Tracks narcotics related data.
• Manages the department’s strategic plan and participates in presentations.
