Job summary
The City of Gainesville is seeking a Crime Analyst within the Gainesville Police Department to gather, research, analyze, and organize confidential investigative information related to criminal violations. Qualifications
- Bachelor degree preferred in criminal justice or related field with applicable coursework (criminal justice, criminology, statistics).
- Three years of progressively responsible experience as crime analyst or related role in criminal justice.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily focused and systematic studies of crime and disorder to assist internal staff and external agencies.
- Monitor crime levels and patterns; tabulate crimes by area, time, and offense characteristics.
- Develop forecasts or predictive analysis on crime trends and patterns.
