Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Crime Analyst to identify crime patterns, collect and evaluate information to support police investigations and trend analysis. The role involves data-driven forecasting and presenting findings to internal partners.

Applicants should have a Bachelors degree in a related field and 2+ years of analysis experience, with strong skills in databases, Excel, and mapping software. This is a VHBE position with 40-hour weeks and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in criminal justice, computer science, statistics or related field with crime analysis coursework.
• 2+ years as crime/intelligence analyst in municipal, sheriff or federal agencies.
• Experience with relational databases, software and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze crime patterns using computer applications and statistical tools.
• Use ArcMAP/ArcPRO for geospatial analysis and mapping.
• Query databases (RMS, NCIC/CCIC, Accurint) to collect and analyze data.
• Prepare real-time analysis, monthly summaries and reports for police executives.
