As a service desk team member, you will also help with setup/dismantling of displays and related equipment, and you may work as a crew member when not at the desk, averaging 20–25 hours per week with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

Summary:

Customer Service Desk Associate/Crew supports the process of event management within the event & hospitality industry. Responsibilities include providing excellent communication and customer care to both exhibitors and vendors. This person will manage a service desk during expos/conventions/ tradeshows, which entails assisting exhibitors with onsite orders, payment processing, and questions. Additional duties may include routine administrative work and other functions to assist the operations of the company when needed. You will be expected to work as a crew member when not operating the service desk.

Service Crew members play an instrumental part in the success of each event. Crew members are responsible for installing and dismantling pipe/drape, tables, chairs, carpet, displays, signs, and other equipment as requested by the customer for trade shows, exhibitions, festivals, and other special events. Crew members have the responsibility to ensure events are set up and dismantled to meet strict deadlines and that equipment is handled with care.

This is a part-time position with hours ranging on average 20-25 hours per week. Must be available for flexible scheduling (must be available for all three shifts: days/nights/weekends).

Pay is $19.00 per hour based on previous experience.

Essential Functions:
  • Labor Crew member primary; service desk as needed
  • Operates office machines and credit card terminals
  • Operates the Service Desk at events and successfully delivers positive customer experience.
  • Notifies General Manager when a service call is needed on equipment only after measures have been made to correct the problem
  • Attend staff meetings as required
  • Installs and dismantles pipe, drape, exhibits, furniture, carpet, and related hardware as guided by blueprint
  • Constructs portable installations according to specifications
  • Assembles and installs prefabricated parts to reconstruct traveling exhibits from sketches submitted by client
  • Installs decorations such as flags, banners, and signs on or in buildings, exhibit halls, and booths to achieve special effects
  • Works with clients and supervisors to ensure show or event is set up as planned
  • Maintains, repairs, and cleans equipment
  • Reviews client orders to ensure all equipment is ready for show
  • Loads and unloads materials for show
  • May drive loaded vehicle to and from shows

This position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, and stand/walk for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required include corrected close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Corrected hearing to a normal range is required.
