Job summary

ART CRAFT DISPLAY INC is seeking a part-time General Labor/Crew member in Grand Rapids, MI. You will install and dismantle pipe/drape, tables, chairs, displays, and other event equipment for trade shows, festivals, and expos, ensuring timely setup and careful handling of all gear.

The role requires the ability to lift/move equipment, strong teamwork, and flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends. A high school diploma and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required for all new-hire employees.
• Ability to work all three shifts (days/nights/weekends).
• Willing to perform physically demanding tasks and lift/move equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs and dismantles pipe, drape, exhibits, furniture, carpet, and related hardware as guided by floorplan.
• Constructs portable installations according to specifications.
• Assembles and installs prefabricated parts to reconstruct traveling exhibits from sketches submitted by client.
• Installs decorations such as flags, banners, signs on or in buildings, exhibit halls, and booths to achieve special effects.
• Works with clients and supervisors to ensure show or event is set up as planned and within time frame allotted.
• Maintains, repairs, and cleans equipment.
• Reviews client orders to ensure all equipment is ready for show.
• Loads and unloads materials for show.
• May drive loaded vehicle to and from shows.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Must be available to work all three shifts as needed. (days/nights/weekends)

Summary:

General Labor/Crew members play an instrumental part in the success of each event. Crew members are responsible for installing and dismantling pipe/drape, tables, chairs, carpet, displays, signs, and other equipment as requested by the customer for trade shows, expos, festivals, and other special events. Crew members have the responsibility to ensure events set up and dismantled to meet strict deadlines and that equipment is handled with care.
