Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a Crew Leader to supervise a vegetation management crew on utility projects, ensuring safe tree trimming and line clearance. You will plan tasks, train the crew, enforce safety standards, and maintain records while coordinating with property owners and utility representatives.

Expect frequent travel and outdoor work; CDL may be required, and Lewis offers employee stock ownership, paid training, and comprehensive benefits to support your career growth.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a tree crew or utility vegetation management.
• Knowledge of ANSI Z133 Safety Requirements and A300 Pruning Standards for arboricultural operations.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL as needed.
• CPR and First Aid certification (provided by Lewis).
• Strong leadership, effective communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily tree crew operations and ensure safe, efficient work practices, including training and onboarding.
• Plan and assign tasks based on crew skills and job requirements.
• Monitor crew performance and conduct training, promotions, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date contact information for crew members and report availability or fitness-for-duty concerns.
• Conduct field training and job briefings to ensure crew readiness.
• Enforce safety standards and company policies; report unsafe conditions.
