Job description

This position is responsible for the safe transportation of Auction employees on Auction property and to/from the Auction, local business/dealerships, etc., in compliance with Auction safety and driving rules, the Uniform Vehicle Code, applicable DOT regulations, and the rules of the road. The role involves demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles. Additionally, this position leads a team of drivers to accomplish various operational tasks on the lot.

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 ($500 paid after 30 days of employment, $500 after 90 days).

Job Responsibilities:

1. Orient and instruct new drivers regarding their duties and assist the supervisor in assigning and directing work.
2. Communicate with the supervisor or manager to ensure proper vehicle flow and maintain logs of stock numbers and lot locations.
3. Communicate schedules and assignments to team members.
4. Manage vans and transport drivers to various locations, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of employees and vehicles.
5. Shuttle employees to and from auxiliary parking lots on sale days and provide transportation for inventory vehicles at remote sites.
6. Pick-up and drop-off employees and personnel to/from the Auction, parking lots, dealerships, and other locations.
7. Perform daily maintenance and routine checks on the van; ensure the vehicle is fueled, lubricated, and serviced.
8. Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety procedures and modeling safe behaviors, working with the Market Safety Manager on safety initiatives.
9. Work with management to review work volumes, plan staffing, monitor performance, and develop improvement strategies.
10. Lead the team by setting an example, promoting values, and ensuring respectful treatment of all employees.
11. Enforce all company policies related to conduct.
12. Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., higher education in a related field or 5 years of experience).
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Work Environment:

• Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $14.71 to $22.12, depending on location, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include commissions or incentive programs.
