Job summary

Valor Environmental is seeking a Full-Time Crew Leader in Conway, SC to supervise daily crew activities on construction and landscaping projects. Pay rate ranges from $18.00 to $21.00 per hour with overtime opportunities, and benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a strong 401(k) match.

The role requires leadership, hands-on management of materials and safety, and the ability to operate heavy equipment. Weekend and extended hours may be required, with year-round work available.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or landscaping experience preferred.
• Previous leadership experience in construction or landscaping.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Comfortable using technology (phones/computers).
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to work weekends and extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leads all crew work for the day, including site travel, materials management, quality control, inspection sign-offs, field communication, and safety measures.
• Interacts with clients on site to ensure the work is completed to standard.
• Crew leader reinforces company culture with crew (attire, work ethic, safety, attitude).
• Ensures materials are well kept, maintained, and not wasted.
• Leads field work and becomes adept at installing and maintaining storm water protection measures.
• Operates heavy equipment (trencher, skid steer, bobcat, backhoe, sweeper) and truck/trailer safely and in compliance with laws.
• Demonstrates organization and proficient use of electronics (phones, laptops, etc.).

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $21.00 plus overtime

Job Responsibilities

• Leads all efforts of crew work for the day’s events (driving to site, management of materials, quality of work, sign off on inspection reports, communication in field, care of materials and tools, managing overtime, illustrating safety measures, etc.)
• Interacts with clients on site to assure work is done
• Crew leader will reinforces company culture with crew (attire, communication, work ethic, safety, and attitude)
• Assures that job materials are well kept, maintained and utilized without waste
• Leads the work effort in the field and becomes adept at installation and maintenance of storm water protective measures
• Operates heavy equipment (trencher, skid steer, bobcat, backhoe, sweeper) and truck/trailer safely. Abides by all applicable laws/regulations.
• Demonstrates organization and electronic usage capability (i.e. using phone, computers, etc.)

Requirements

• Previous construction or landscaping experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the labor duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
• Be able to reach overhead.
• Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, walking, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.
• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
