Job summary

A family-run flagging company is seeking a Crew Leader in Vermont. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of traffic control laws and be responsible for managing work zone setups. Responsibilities include leadership of crew members and administrative tasks. Candidates should possess a VT Work Zone Certification and preferred experience as a Flagger. Benefits include health insurance and a 401(k) plan with matching. This position requires self-transportation to job sites and full availability Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 6 months of experience as a Flagger.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Need to maintain reliable communication with the office.
• Availability Mon–Fri, full-day.
• Completion of GMF Crew Leader Training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage work zone setup.
• Handle administrative duties including time slips and incident reports.
• Ensure great attendance and punctuality.
• Communicate with the office daily to coordinate schedules.

A Crew Leader is a senior-level Flagger who has deep knowledge and proven practice following Traffic Control laws and norms. The Crew Leader is responsible for the setup and basic management of the work zone. Crew Leaders drive a personal vehicle and are responsible for completing any paperwork and submitting it in a timely manner. Hours available are determined by client need and weather.

All Crew Leaders are hired on a 6-week probationary period.

• Ability to get self and partner to the job site on time and fully prepared
• Ability to lead and give clear and concise direction
• Ability to receive feedback and follow corrective actions
• Great Attendance and Punctuality
• Occasional administrative Duties, including handling time slips and writing incident reports
• Maintaining Equipment

Requirements

• Active VT Work Zone Certification
• Personal truck or SUV that can safely carry a 500lb flagging package
• Knowledge of traffic control practices and standards
• 21 years or older
• At least 6 months of experience as a Flagger
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check
• Full-day availability Monday through Friday
• Leadership and Communication Skills
• Have or obtain the following certifications within the first 6 months of employment: OSHA 10 & CPR/First Aid
• Completion of GMF Crew Leader Training
• Reliable communication daily with the office
