Job Summary

The Crew Lead – Structured Cabling will act as the on‑site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. The role ensures job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining crew efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Run major project crews and oversee their effectiveness.
  • Provide necessary training and conduct weekly safety meetings.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager/Lead to ensure productivity, compliance with budget, and job completion.
  • Complete all required project paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, etc.).
  • Perform quality checks, coordinate moves and cut sheets for voice and data cross‑connects, and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings.
  • Act as the main on‑site customer contact for questions and concerns and attend facility and construction meetings as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise and perform work demonstrating detailed technical knowledge.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field.
  • At least six (6) months of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Ability to terminate fiber and interpret blueprints and project documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project) and the listed tools.
  • Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
  • Meet company minimum driving standards.
Physical & Mental Requirements
  • Self‑motivated, positive, and professional with strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Capable of working at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds; stand and walk on large job sites regularly.
  • Must be able to see, distinguish colors, read small print, and hear audible signals such as dial tones.
  • Must be able to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.
