Job summary

Challenge Unlimited in Illinois is seeking a Full-time Crew Lead Janitor for the night shift to keep our facility clean and orderly. Driving is a requirement and the position runs Monday through Friday, 4:00pm to 12:30am at Scott Air Force Base.

Pay rate is $18.20 per hour plus federal benefits. Responsibilities include cleaning designated areas, performing routine inspections, handling minor repairs, stocking supplies, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of janitorial experience required.
• Supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
• Driver’s license; driving record must meet company policy.

Responsibilities

• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning).
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Notify management of deficiencies or needs for repairs.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms; cooperate with staff.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.

• Shifts: Full-time: Monday-Friday; 4:00pm - 12:30am

Job Duties:

• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Make adjustments and minor repairs
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Follow all health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. helpful, butnot required.
• Experience: 1+ years of janitorial experience. Supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
• Certifications/Licenses: Driver’s License (regular license in IL, WI, OH, SC; or Class E in MO)
• Background Checks: Must pass criminal background check. Must pass various State and Federal registry checks. Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check.
• Driving: Must pass driving history check and Company policy criteria. Must maintain valid driver’s license and be 21 or older to drive Company van to transport workers, supplies, and equipment between building assignments. Company travel using personal insured vehicles is not required.

Physical Demands:

• Sitting Occasionally sitting in the normal course of office-sedentary type work.
