Role Description The Crew Chief is a full-time, on-site role located in Port Jefferson Station, NY, responsible for leading restoration crews on fire, water, and mold damage projects. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing job set-up, managing equipment and materials, monitoring project progress, and ensuring that work meets company standards and safety guidelines. The Crew Chief directs and trains team members, communicates clearly with customers about the scope of work, and documents job activities, including photos, notes, and forms. This role also involves coordinating with the office, assisting with estimates, maintaining clean and organized job sites and vehicles, and being available for occasional after-hours or weekend emergency response.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field crews or teams in restoration, construction, cleaning, or related trades, with strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Ability to perform hands-on work, including lifting equipment, operating restoration tools, and following safety procedures for fire, water, and mold damage.
• Strong customer service and communication skills to explain processes, provide updates, and maintain professional interactions with property owners and managers.
• Basic documentation and organizational skills, including completing job paperwork, using mobile apps or software, and maintaining accurate records.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from the work site.
• Comfort working in varied environments, including damaged structures, confined spaces, and conditions requiring personal protective equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; IICRC or other restoration-related certifications are a plus.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training, follow company policies, and be available for rotating on-call or emergency shifts as needed.
