Job summary

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking Creole interpreters to interpret for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, mental health evaluations, etc. Interpreters must have daytime availability and can set their own schedule; mileage is reimbursed.

The position requires Creole proficiency and a minimum of 1 year of professional interpreting experience. A background check, reliable phone service, and comfort with using a computer are also required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of professional interpreting experience on resume.
• Documentation of proficiency preferred; a proficiency test may be required if no documentation is available.
• Background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry required.
• Reliable phone service for contact is required.
• Must be comfortable using a computer for job input.

• Interpret for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, mental health evaluations, and similar meetings.
• Maintain daytime availability and set your own schedule.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• It is preferred that candidates possess documentation to show proficiency in languages other than English. If documentation is not available, candidates might be asked to complete a proficiency test.
• Candidates MUST have at least 1 year of professional interpreting experience on their resume. Language proficiency alone is NOT sufficient. Volunteer interpreting for a school or church or interpreting for family/friends is NOT sufficient.
• Must be willing to get a background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry
• Must have reliable phone service for contact.
• Must be comfortable with using computer for job input.
