Job summary

CLA is seeking a Director to join our Credit Risk (Financial Services Industry) team. This role provides audit services to clients, oversees credit risk engagements, and mentors audit staff on technical issues and professional development.

The successful candidate will lead loan review engagements, coordinate with clients for timely fieldwork, develop client relationships with bank executives, and contribute to business development within credit management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; combination of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree; accounting/finance related field preferred.
• 7 years of relevant financial institution experience required.

Responsibilities

CLA is looking for a Director to join our Credit Risk (Financial Services Industry) team. This role provides audit services to clients. They oversee credit risk consulting engagements, manages talented staff, and assumes the role of mentor on audit and accounting technical issues and overall professional development.

Job Description:

• Collecting and analyzing pertinent data to scope a loan review project or assignment
• Evaluating credit files and assessing risk on an aggregated basis
• Coordinating with clients for the timely completion of fieldwork
• Leading loan review engagements, organizing and communicating findings from such reviews
• Reviewing workpapers and loan review reports in a quality control capacity
• Preparing and reviewing credit review reports
• Providing ongoing technical assistance support to clients
• Anticipating and addressing client issues
• Assisting in the oversight and completion of other engagements/special projects or duties as assigned
• Providing oversight/review of assigned staff members for credit risk engagements
• Assisting in the firm’s business development and strategic activities in the credit management area
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key bank executives and directors
• Attending conferences and association meetings for financial institutions
• Working with other CLA staff and clients to address credit review issues that may arise
• Remaining informed of the latest banking industry and credit review developments

Education/Experience:

• _ Education: _ Bachelor’s degree is required. Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• _ Experience _: 7 years of relevant financial institution experience required.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
