Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior Associate in Credit Risk (Financial Services) to support loan reviews, analyze borrower statements, and coordinate fieldwork. You will work with clients, build relationships, and mentor staff on more complex engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with accounting/finance concepts is highly valued.
• 2 years of relevant experience are required; accounting/finance background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage tasks specific to loan review or engagement as directed by the lead reviewer.
• Prepare and analyze borrower financial statements for loan review.
• Coordinate timely fieldwork completion.
• Review or assist in preparation of credit review reports.
• Provide ongoing technical support to clients.
• Assist with other engagements or special projects as assigned.
• Provide administrative support to the credit risk services line as needed.
• Assist in business development and strategic activities in credit management.

CLA is looking for a Senior Associate to join our Credit Risk (Financial Services Industry) team. This role assists on credit risk consulting engagements for clients, while building client relationships and assuring continued close personal attention to client needs. They are also responsible for training and coaching new staff members in preparation to take on more complex assignments and additional engagements.

Job Description

• Managing tasks specific to the loan review or other engagement as directed by the lead loan reviewer or other CLA credit risk team members.
• Preparing and analyzing borrower financial statements for inclusion in the loan review process.
• Coordinating the timely completion of fieldwork.
• Reviewing and/or assisting in the preparation of credit review reports.
• Providing ongoing technical assistance support to clients.
• Assisting in the completion of other engagements/special projects or duties as assigned.
• Providing administrative support to the credit risk services line, as needed.
• Assisting in the firm’s business development and strategic activities in the credit management area.
• Assisting in establishing and maintaining relationships with key bank executives and directors.
• Working with CLA team members and clients to address credit review issues that may arise.
• Keeping abreast of the latest banking industry, accounting and credit review developments through ongoing formal and self-education.

Education/Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of relevant experience required. Degree in accounting, finance, or related field is highly preferred.
• Travel: This position requires frequent local travel to/from client sites as well regular (>20%) overnight, non-local travel.

Skills/Knowledge

• Understand internal software systems including Pfx Engagement. Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and MS Office products is necessary.
