Job summary

Thrivent is offering a Private Investment Grade and High Yield Credit Intern position in Minneapolis, MN, within the Investment team. The role supports research and analysis, interacting with portfolio managers and analysts, and contributes to the investment process in a dynamic, learning-focused environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing graduate study, have strong analytical ability, and can work full-time during the summer.

Qualifications

• Completed first year of graduate program with a demonstrated history of strong academic performance.
• Working knowledge of accounting, finance, corporate strategy, real estate and financial statistics.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making and mathematical skills.
• Ability to take work direction from various leaders as well as work independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel. Experience with investment tools such as DealCloud, Accelex, Aladdin, and/or Bloomberg is a plus.
• Ability to work full time during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Provide research support for analyzing and underwriting credit investments.
• Monitoring credit risk and performance of existing investment holdings.
• Perform independent research on industries and sectors within fixed income market.
• Participate and contribute to all aspects of the investment process including meetings with issuers and management.
• Participate in Investment Committee for new investments.
