Job summary

QBE North America in Miami is seeking an organised administrator to support credit control and billing. You will resolve queries, perform basic accounts receivable tasks, and help ensure prompt collection and reconciliation of premiums in a hybrid work environment.

You will work closely with accounting, underwriting, and brokers to monitor receivables, chase overdue accounts, and maintain accurate credit records. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Moderate experience in credit control or accounts receivable beneficial.
  • Experience in professional or financial services is preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve aged debt to minimize overdue balances.
  • Refer billing queries to appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Monitor the credit control process to ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain accurate credit transaction records and update customer accounts.
  • Review and reconcile credit control reports and broker statements.
  • Chase overdue accounts regularly until resolution or escalation.
  • Analyze credit-control data to identify problem areas and act accordingly.
  • Allocate and notify stakeholders of collections and premiums.
  • Identify unallocated cash items and escalate collection challenges.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and brokers for payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company credit-control policies.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system refinements.

The Opportunity

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support for credit control and billing functions, resolve complex queries, perform basic accounts receivable tasks, and ensure prompt collection and reconciliation of premiums. This role will work across the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining accurate records of all credit transactions. This role involves working closely with the accounting and underwriting teams to monitor and manage receivables, as well as liaising with brokers to resolve any payment issues.

  • Location: Miami, FL
  • Work Arrangement: hybrid working expectations
  • The hourly rate for this role is between $53,000.00 - $80,000.00
Your new role
  • Investigate and resolve aged debt to keep it to a minimum.
  • Referral of billing queries to appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Monitor and manage the credit control process to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all credit transactions and update customer accounts accordingly.
  • Review and reconcile credit control reports and broker statements.
  • Perform regular chasing of overdue accounts until resolution or escalation.
  • Analyze all credit control-related data, identifying problem areas and acting on those problems accordingly.
  • Process, allocate and notify all appropriate stakeholders of their respective shares of collections and premiums.
  • Identify and document all unrecognized/unallocated cash items that are experiencing collection difficulties to ensure early escalation.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders and provide excellent customer focus.
  • Liaise with brokers to resolve payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to credit control.
  • Contribute to the refinement of process procedures and systems for continuous improvement.
Work Experience
  • Moderate relevant experience in the field.
Preferred Work Experience
  • Experience in credit control in professional or financial services industry.
  • Experience in fundamental credit analysis.
  • Moderate finance or accounting experience.
  • Experience in accounts receivable, and/or cash management functions.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (must have)
