Job summary

United Rentals in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Credit Specialist to assess, negotiate, and collect on open accounts receivable. You will serve as the liaison between customers and branches, helping maintain positive relationships while meeting the goals of the Credit Management team.

In this onsite role, you will meet metrics for contacting customers, review and prepare credit recommendations, negotiate payment plans, and resolve billing issues with field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3–5 years of related finance/collections experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• Excellent math and written/verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to perform complex account reconciliations with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Meet established goals and objectives per Credit Playbook/Management.
• Contact customers and collect past due balances using multiple methods.
• Prepare credit recommendations for Credit Supervisor.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and plans.
• Communicate progress with Credit Management Team.
• Collaborate with field operations to resolve billing issues and disputes.
• Assist with information requests, invoicing, and documentation.
