Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company is seeking a Collections Processor to engage in the collection of customer trade receivable accounts. This role requires excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented approach, ensuring all payments are processed correctly.

The successful candidate will communicate with customers to resolve payment issues and prepare reports for management. The position offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and 401k plans.

Qualifications

• Requires two or more years of account administration/collection experience.
• Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
• Must be detail-oriented and have good organization skills.
• Requires knowledge of computer systems including Excel, Word, Outlook, and the Internet.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with customers by telephone and/or via e-mail to collect all open items.
• Updates the business system with real-time collection notes.
• Evaluates customer payment receipts and attempts to collect delinquent accounts.
• Reviews accounts receivable aging to ensure accounts are reconciled.
• Works with branches or third-party payers to resolve processing issues.
• Prepares reports to update on payment status of past due accounts.
• Assists management in the approval of new business.
