Job summary

Lumbermens Merchandising Corporation seeks a Manager, Credit and Accounts Receivable to lead the dealer credit function and AR team. This role will shape credit policy, oversee collateral processes, and drive collections to protect company assets.

You will collaborate with Finance and senior leadership to optimize cash flow, monitor KPIs, and ensure GAAP compliance while developing staff performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.
• Ability to read and analyze financial statements with strong GAAP knowledge.
• Understand banking securitization and collateral documentation.
• 5–7 years of related finance experience, preferably in lumber.
• 2–3 years of prior management experience.
• Strong leadership: mentoring, role modeling, coaching.
• Excellent customer service focus and skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal/external contacts.
• Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems and interpret instructions.
• Proficient with Excel and Word; willingness to learn workflow-based systems.
• Knowledge of the co‑op business and lumber industry preferred.
• Ability to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AR Department including payments collection and GL reconciliation.
• Manage monthly AR account reconciliations (unapplied cash, credits, accruals).
• Monitor accounts for non-payments and irregularities; initiate collections.
• Oversee credit process: educate dealers on policy and review financial statements.
• Present and enforce credit decisions with Finance Committee; set collateral requirements.
• Audit collateral annually and update documents as needed.
• Maintain stockholder confidentiality and records.
• Handle staffing decisions and performance evaluations.
