Job description

This leading alternative investment manager is seeking to add a Credit Analyst to its Credit Analyst Program to work on the company’s Credit platform, which invests primarily in leveraged loans and includes public and private Direct Lending funds as well as a Collateralized Loan Obligation (“CLO”) platform. The candidate will report to a Managing Director on the investment team.

Job Description:

• Manage the collection and distribution of financial updates for an assigned portfolio company coverage list
• Assess portfolio company performance through review of financial statements, attendance on lender update calls, and discussions with company’s management
• Prepare financial update flash summaries and monitoring reports, circulating updates to the investment team and addressing follow-up questions from the Portfolio Managers
• Perform ongoing diligence and provide regular updates to the Portfolio Managers, including presenting during quarterly portfolio reviews
• Responsible for tracking key metrics for coverage list (both position-level and company-level) • Re-underwrite investments to support incremental transactions
• Conduct fundamental credit analysis of new leveraged loan deals, including participating in investor presentations, management meetings, liaising with experts within the New Mountain network
• Draft investment memos and present to Investment Committee

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Finance or accounting degree, GPA 3.5+
• 2-3 years of experience in financial services
• Strong attention to detail required
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, which include basic knowledge of macros and pivot tables
• CPA / CFA or other professional designation a plus
