Job summary

Frontier Farm Credit in Omaha, NE invites motivated students to join our summer internship program in agricultural finance. You will work on real projects, learn underwriting basics, analyze balance sheets, and gain exposure to credit processes.

This 12-week internship requires pursuing a relevant degree, a minimum 3.0 GPA, strong communication and leadership, and a willingness to learn. A competitive hourly wage and relocation support are provided.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science or similar degree.
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
• Strong desire to gain further understanding of ag finance, lending and credit business
• Available for a 12-week internship during summer
• Qualified interns will receive a competitive hourly wage and $500 sign-on bonus
• Relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to our credit philosophies for short, intermediate and long-term financing.
• Learn resources and techniques for underwriting loans.
• Make decisions on new and existing operating, term and real estate loan applications.
• Input customer financial information and analyze balance sheets, income statements and cash flows.
• Research industry information.
• Attend and participate in team meetings.
• Complete special projects assigned by the leader, if applicable.
• Spend time in our retail offices to learn about the loan administration and closing processes.
• Spend time with Financial Officers to learn about the sales processes and potentially meet with customers.
• Attend class(es) facilitated by our Organizational Development and Learning teams, if appropriate.
• Promote Farm Credit Services of America through various public activities (this could include volunteer activities, farm shows, external learning opportunities, etc).
