Job summary

Frontier Farm Credit offers a 12-week summer internship where you work on real projects and gain hands-on experience in ag finance. You will learn office procedures, assist with promotional activities, and observe loan processes from application to closing.

Travel to Omaha, NE three times during the internship for orientation, mid-summer, and closing events. Relocation assistance is available for those who qualify. Competitive hourly wage and a $500 sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science or similar.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Learn general office procedures and assist with promotional activities.
• Input annual financial information from customers and analyze financial position.
• Conduct credit verifications with credit references and other lenders as per loan application.
• Promote Farm Credit Services of America through various public activities.
• Complete special projects assigned.
• Observe marketing/sales and prospecting calls by Financial Officers.
• Observe new loan applications, renewals and additional loans.
• Observe loan closing for exposure to legal requirements.
• Observe Appraiser procedures for real estate and chattel appraisals.
