Job summary

Texas Bank and Trust in Longview, TX seeks a Credit Analyst I to analyze credit, collateral and financial statements for commercial lending decisions. You will underwrite smaller, non-complex transactions and renewals, partnering with Credit Management to build underwriting skills.

You will provide confidential, accurate customer service and prepare presentations for loan committees, while staying current with finance regulations and industry trends to support prudent lending decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business/finance, accounting, or economics.
• Strong accounting background and sales experience desirable.
• Successful completion of all Credit Analyst Trainee requirements, as applicable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills; positive attitude with team-player approach.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritizе work assignments; detail oriented with flexibility in dealing with a changing work environment, customer service oriented and a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong math skills and sound understanding of general accounting/reconciling principles
• Strong computer skills, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets and menu-driven software, are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Credit Request Presentations that analyze the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
• Confer with Credit Management and Commercial lenders to determine appropriate structures, terms, and risk ratings.
• Prepare financial spreads and ratio analysis using spreading software.
• Conducts annual analysis and prepares memorandums for large commercial loan relationships.
• Study and stay current with compliance regulations, industry trends, and economic conditions as they relate to commercial lending.
• Complete training requirements as established by Credit Management.
• Works on special projects as assigned by Credit Management.
• Other duties as requested by supervisor or other management representative of the bank.
