Job summary

Washington Trust Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst to assist Relationship Managers in the credit analysis and evaluation of existing and potential loan customers. You will provide analytical support, prepare credit authorizations, and build financial models and cash flow analyses under supervision.

The role requires solid accounting aptitude, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel. Collaboration across teams and effective communication are essential for success in this environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of credit analysis and underwriting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting aptitude.
• Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability.
• Experience with spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel).
• Knowledge of bank loan policies and general commercial documentation requirements.
• Ability to prioritize assignments while maintaining high service levels.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Organizational and analytical skills; able to work independently or with others.

Responsibilities

• Assist Relationship Managers in credit analysis and risk rating.
• Prepare written credit authorizations and review credit documentation.
• Spread business financial statements and prepare cash flow worksheets.
• Develop financial models and customized automated spreadsheets for borrowers.
• Prepare financial statement presentations for business borrowers.
