J&B Group in Minnesota is seeking a Credit and Collections Specialist to manage assigned accounts, research payment discrepancies, and maintain clear communication with customers and internal teams.

The role requires 2+ years of B2B credit/collections experience, strong computer skills including MS Office, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. Competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and associate degree preferred.
• Minimum two years in business-to-business credit and collections experience.
• Strong computer skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems/software applications quickly.
• Previous phone experience in a professional setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency and initiative.
• Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Self-starter who can work independently as well as effectively as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Works with assigned accounts to identify and expedite the resolution of unpaid customer accounts to optimize receivables.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies; Investigate and resolve customer queries.
• Request validated customer credits and other adjustments
• Maintain collection notes on assigned accounts.
• Initiate, maintain and grow solid relationships with our Customers, Sales, Finance and Operational partners
• Provide documentation to customers requesting invoices, BOLs, statements, etc.
• Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
• Reconcile and validate customer deductions and short payments. Submit timely and accurate adjustments to Credit Supervisor.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Serve as the backup to other positions within the department as needed.
