Job summary

Heart + Paw is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative, pet-focused team. You’ll support veterinarians in exams, surgeries, and diagnostics, while delivering compassionate client service and ensuring high-quality patient care.

In a modern, low-stress environment with advanced technology, you’ll manage radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, and inventory, and contribute to onboarding new staff and promoting grooming, daycare, and retail services.

Qualifications

• Must hold state veterinary technician licensure.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Must be able to lift 20+ lbs in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to pursue Fear Free and HABRI certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries and patient care.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer meds, prep for surgeries.
• Record histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
• Take radiographs including dental X-rays; perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
• Monitor anesthesia, dress wounds; assist with catheterization and ear flushes.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment areas.
• Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene and nutrition.
• Collaborate with team; assist with onboarding new employees.
• Promote services like grooming, daycare and retail.

What We’re Looking For:

• Licensure Required: Veterinary Technician licensure in this state
• Experience: 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Client-Centric Focus: Strong communication skills and a passion for building lasting relationships.
• Physical Stamina : Ability to lift 20+ lbs. and work in a fast-paced, sometimes emotionally demanding environment.
• Technological Savvy: Interest in using technology to improve veterinary care and client experience.
• Certifications (Preferred): Fear Free and HABRI certification or a willingness to achieve them.

The pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position and is determined based on experience, skill set, location and other factors.

Pay Range

$20 - $22 USD
