Job summary

Bear Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our Missouri practice. You will support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostic tasks while ensuring top‑tier patient care and client communication.

Applicants must hold a valid state veterinary technician license and demonstrate strong teamwork, organization, and professional communication. The role includes routine pet care, diagnostics, and client education in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; with assistance beyond 25 pounds.
• OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in practice of veterinary medicine and surgery as needed.
• Assist in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights; provide client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during surgery.
• Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment and lab areas; maintain equipment.
