Job summary

VEG is seeking a credentialed veterinary technician to join our emergency team. You will provide patient care, monitor patients, and assist with anesthesia and treatments in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in VEG practice location.
• VTS certification will receive additional considerations in practice role and compensation.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal) with team and customers.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty preferred.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg; assist up to 40 kg with help.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients with compassion and care.
• Perform nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments.
• Triage incoming patients using clinical assessment and vital signs.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Set up and monitor IV fluids and transfusions; support inpatient and outpatient care.
• Assist in anesthesia with varied levels of risk and techniques.
• Collaborate with veterinary team to formulate treatment plans.
• Coach and guide veterinary assistants and nurses to maintain standards.
