Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living in Kennewick, WA seeks a skilled cook to prepare nutritious, appealing meals from scratch and work as part of a team to ensure safe, efficient kitchen operations in line with Hawthorn menus. This universal role will be cross-trained as directed by the Community Executive Chef.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining sanitation, logging temperatures and leftovers, and supporting resident satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent experience.
• Two (2) years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking experience.
• Ability to read and prepare Hawthorn recipes.
• Knowledge of food service sanitation practices.
• Maintains logs, reports, and records.
• Proficient with word processing and spreadsheets.
• Maintains required health and safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following Hawthorn Senior Living menus and recipes.
• Follow Hawthorn portion-control standards.
• Follow safe food-handling procedures.
• Ensure food and supplies are available for planned meals.
• Oversee setup of serving carts and meal service.
• Maintain temperature and leftover logs.
• Complete administrative duties as needed.
