Summer House Santa Monica, part of Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, is hiring a Sous Chef with 2 years of sous chef experience. The role offers competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for career growth across our 130+ locations.

Join a culinary-driven company and lead BOH operations, ensure food quality, manage inventory, and train staff. Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends, in a full-service restaurant setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of sous chef experience.
• Ability to lead and manage the kitchen staff.
• Experience in a full-service restaurant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run BOH shifts and ensure effective kitchen operations, including food prep and cooking, and supervise all BOH teams.
• Lead BOH pre-shift meetings, line checks, and tastings.
• Maintain recipe books in partnership with GM/chefs and ensure consistency.
• Perform regular line checks to ensure menu item quality.
• Order and purchase daily food products and supplies; monitor costs.
• Foster clear communication between FOH and BOH; address gaps promptly.
• Hire, onboard, train, and develop all BOH staff; promote teamwork across teams.
• Handle guest, vendor, and employee issues with patience and tact.
• Work varied shifts across multiple sites, including early mornings and weekends; travel as needed.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as required.
