Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Resident Lifestyle Director to plan and lead life-enrichment activities for residents, coordinate events, and manage a team of activity staff. You will collaborate with the Executive Director and Marketing to promote community engagement while ensuring high-quality, resident-focused programs.

The role requires strong creativity, empathy, and organizational skills, plus experience in senior living settings and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree or higher in gerontology, business, human services, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years designing and leading life-enrichment activities for seniors in IL/AL/MC settings required.
• 1+ year leadership experience in senior living or healthcare management preferred.
• Dementia care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of all life-enrichment activities, outings, and programs.
• Create and lead arts, crafts, music, drama, educational, and exercise activities.
• Prepare a monthly newsletter, calendar of activities, and monthly activity meetings.
• Hire, train, and supervise Resident Lifestyle Assistants, Coordinators, and Drivers.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers when appropriate.
• Encourage resident participation and celebrate achievements.
• Coordinate equipment and supplies for activities.
• Collaborate with Marketing on planning events to promote the community.
• Assist in developing the department budget with the Executive Director.
• Foster family and community support for the activity program.
• Contribute to quality of care initiatives within the community.
• Coordinate transportation for events outside the community.
