Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging store events, including children’s parties and craft classes.

You will lead activities, demonstrate crafts, and coordinate add-ons while ensuring a fun, safe, and customer-friendly experience in a fast-paced retail environment. You will interact with guests of all ages, assist with checkout flow, and support omni-channel processes.

Qualifications

• Experience providing friendly customer service and helping guests.
• Experience planning or coordinating events in a retail environment.
• Ability to work with children and manage activities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and crafts classes.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and other activities.
• Coordinate add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; answer emails and phone calls.
• Create backup or emergency plans; ensure client satisfaction and safety; maintain store cleanliness during events.
