Michaels in Eatontown, NJ is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and facilitate store events including kids’ birthday parties, while delivering friendly customer service and a positive guest experience.

You will assist shoppers, manage checkouts, support BOPIS/SFS processes, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards, ensuring events run smoothly and guests leave satisfied.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic demeanor suitable for public-facing events.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.
• Experience planning and executing children’s events or parties is preferred.
• Strong communication and listening skills; ability to explain activities clearly.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Retail or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including kids’ birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft activities; lead activities and face painting.
• Coordinate add-ons like goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
• Answer emails, make phone calls, and complete paperwork as needed.
