Job summary

Michaels in Troy, Alabama, is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate in-store events, including kids’ birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage guests and demonstrate crafts to ensure a fun, stress-free experience while supporting store operations.

You will assist customers, support checkout, and handle administrative tasks such as emails and calls in a fast-paced retail environment. Energy, communication, and multi-tasking are essential.

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects, face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down and clean before and after each event.
