Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. seeks an energetic event coordinator in Amherst, NY to plan and execute in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage guests, assist with checkout, and promote the Rewards program while ensuring a fun, safe, and creative environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating event logistics, communicating with clients and team, and performing routine store duties to uphold brand standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with children’s events is preferred.
• Retail or store environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events in-store (birthday parties, crafts and classes).
• Engage customers of all ages and provide friendly assistance at checkout.
• Demonstrate activities and assist with party-related tasks.
• Coordinate add-ons (balloons, goody bags) to standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team.
• Handle administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork).
• Prepare backup plans and ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety, set up and break down events.
