Job summary

The Michaels Companies is hiring an Event Team Member for Lansing, MI. In this role you will plan and coordinate events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, in-store to create a fun, stress-free experience for guests.

You will engage customers, assist with checkout, and support store operations with event-related tasks. You will demonstrate crafts, lead activities, and manage add-ons while maintaining brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events (including kids birthday parties and craft classes) across the store.
• Engage with guests of all ages and provide friendly customer service.
• Demonstrate and instruct party activities and crafts; face painting.
• Coordinate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; follow up as needed.
• Handle administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork); adjust plans by feedback.
• Set up, break down, and clean venue before/after events; ensure safety and cleanliness.
