Creative Director, US Endemic, Brand Innovation Lab

As a Creative Director in the Brand Innovation Labs team, you will be leading one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global brands from creative brief to launch. You'll work with a team of art directors, copywriters, designers, strategists, solutions managers, and content producers to create innovative work by coming up with campaign ideas using Amazon’s canvas (i.e. Alexa, Twitch, IMDb, Prime Video). You'll lead projects and own client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer while pushing the creative envelope.

CDs investigate Amazon/3P data to generate insights based on observed customer behavior. And, through a deep understanding of Amazon’s suite of tools and services, they recommend a campaign framework that balances advertiser goals with customers’ expectations of frictionless commerce.

In this role, you will craft high-level creative strategies that solve business needs for CPG, Grocery, Beauty and Softlines brands. You’ll think across Amazon platforms and beyond, manage complex projects, and create tailored content across channels driving the marketing objectives of advertisers. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders and external media and creative agencies. You will work with senior leadership to create processes and establish best practices that impact the broader department. And finally, you will work towards preserving the team culture of collaboration, teamwork, innovation, inspiration, and foster positive internal and agency relationships.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers
  2. Concept, design, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands from developing the creative brief to launching the campaign.
  3. Independently direct campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners
  4. Direct creative disciplines outside your area of functional expertise and provide feedback in all stages of the creative development process
  5. Partner with and/or lead art directors, copywriters, designers, program managers, developers, and content producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives
  6. Deliver high-quality copy for campaigns across different Amazon touch-points
  7. Provide in-depth understanding of copywriting for all formats—digital, print, out-of-home, video and audio scripts, and more
  8. Synthesize strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas
  9. Lead the creation of presentations; present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally
  10. Make creative trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and end-customer needs
  11. Measure and evaluate current processes within the department and improve them through documentation
  12. Mentor and inspire other creatives

A day in the life:

  • Partnering with IMDb to create a reality content series for a chips brand
  • Designing a trivia experience for a brand using Prime Video titles
  • Create an AR experience to highlight the benefits of different beverage products
  • Reviewing and improving campaign ideas and presentation decks
  • Working through creative messaging feedback with Legal and PR
  • Presenting a campaign to brand clients and their partner media agency
  • Reviewing video edits for an influencer product launch campaign
  • Writing documentation to improve creative processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of driving compelling creative strategy and execution at an agency or in-house creative team experience
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote
- Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions
- Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery
- Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)
- Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
